Strengthening the National Human Rights Mechanisms (2010-2011)

Period of implementation: December, 2010 – December, 2011

Goal of the Project

The goal of the Project is to contribute towards strengthening the national human rights infrastructure by producing a manual that will improve the existing human rights protection mechanisms through offering new development interventions and activities.

The main target group of the Manual will be the civil society organizations, in particular those working in the field of human rights, although the university students and the national institutions will benefit from the manual too.

Project activities

In order to achieve the envisaged objective, the Coalition All for Fair Trials will establish a team of two consultants (human rights specialists), coordinated by a Project Coordinator under a direct supervision of the Programme Director of the Coalition. The envisaged timeline for a revision of the current manual and preparation of the national one shall be five months, starting from January 2011.

Once prepared, the Manual will be translated into Albanian and English languages, thus being available in three languages: Macedonian, Albanian and English language.

After its translation and printing, the manual will be publicly promoted and disseminated in few cities of the country: Skopje, Tetovo, Gostivar, Stip, Strumica and Bitola. The promotion will be jointly made with the Ombudsman’s office when a representative from there will speak about the values and merits the manual brings to the civil society of the country for a constructive, well organized and sustained human rights infrastructure.
